EXsynchronos is a free adventure video game by indie developer, Ravee. It’s a first-person shooter game set in a futuristic cyber world. The game is part of the dev's 90.91 game trilogy that concludes the story that began with meloveyou and followed by awaren3ss den1ed.
Just like SYSCRUSHER, EXsynchonus features fast-paced FPS gameplay and employs a similar cyberpunk theme. What makes it stand out, though, is that it also manages to incorporate puzzle-solving and platforming mechanics in combination with the liberal use of color in its design in order to provide a varied and memorable game experience to players.
What is EXsynchonos about?
EXsynchonos is the third game in the 90.91 Trilogy. You can play it as a standalone title, though, and enjoy it without playing the other two in the series. In it, you play as the main character, PROX, who is trapped inside the dark side of cyberspace. Your goal is to find your way out of this bizarre, maze-like, world laden with traps and all manner of cybernetic manifestations.
From the get-go, the thing that stands out the most with EXsynchronos is its dizzying use of vibrant color and bright flashing lights. Its gameplay mainly revolves around first-person shooting action. As mentioned earlier, though, the game also adds some puzzle-solving and platforming to mix things up a bit. Your surroundings constantly change as you progress, and no two sections feel exactly the same as a result.
Lastly, EXsynchonos' gameplay and difficulty also scale and grow as your character transforms and gets various upgrades, never letting up on the challenge. Before you check it out, just be aware that the game features plenty of blinking and flashing lights and effects that may cause seizures if you are sensitive or averse to these things so proceed with caution.
A psychedelic trip
EXsynchronos is a psychedelic audio-visual trip from beginning to end. Its atmosphere changes so quickly from somber to wild, and creepy that it can be overwhelming at first. Those willing to give it a try will be in for a game experience that is unique as it is memorable.
